Abhishek, a 19-year-old BSc second-year student, died after the bike he was riding with a friend hit a divider near Virari village; friend critically injured and referred to Saifai Medical College.
In a tragic road accident on Friday, a BSc second-year student lost his life while returning home after exams along with his friend. The incident took place on the Agra-Kanpur National Highway in the Ikdil police station area of Etawah. The bike they were riding hit a divider near Virari village, causing a severe crash.
Police have identified the deceased as 19-year-old Abhishek, son of Heeralal from village Kharkouli in the Basrehar police jurisdiction.
He was riding the bike with his friend Ratan (23), son of Ramnaresh from Barauni, Bakewar police station area. Abhishek had been staying at his maternal uncle’s house for exam preparations.
Around 10:30 AM on Friday, both friends left from the uncle’s home on a bike but lost control near Virari village, crashing into the divider.
Local residents immediately informed the police, who rushed the injured friends to the district hospital. Unfortunately, doctors declared Abhishek dead on arrival. Due to the severity of his injuries, Ratan was referred to Saifai Medical College for further treatment.
Abhishek was the only son in the family and had three sisters. His mother, Pushpa Devi, had passed away ten years ago, and his sisters—Pooja, Aarti, and Jyoti—raised him like a mother. His father, Heeralal, works as a laborer to support the family. The sudden death of their only son has left the family devastated. The sisters are inconsolable after the tragic news.
The police have sent the body for post-mortem and have initiated an investigation into the accident.
