🚨 Maoists Set Truck Ablaze in Hazaribagh to Intimidate Mining Firms: TSPC Claims Responsibility

India News India News

In a shocking act of violence, armed Maoists from the banned outfit Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TSPC) set a mining truck ablaze in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh district on Sunday night, allegedly to pressure mining companies into negotiations.

🔥 Attack at Mining Site Near BGR Company

The incident took place around 8:20 PM near a mining site operated by BGR Company, where two Scania trucks were actively dumping material.

According to police reports, 4-5 armed TSPC members approached the vehicles, forced the drivers out, and assaulted one driver who tried to resist. They then fired indiscriminately, causing panic in the area.

🧨 Truck Torched, Threat Letter Found

The attackers poured petrol on one of the trucks and set it on fire. A pamphlet left behind at the scene bore the name Kaushal Ji, identifying the assailants as members of the TSPC.

The letter issued a direct warning to mining companies, especially lease holders and outsourced contractors, urging them to initiate dialogue with the group or face “serious consequences.”

🏢 Major Companies Named in Warning

The pamphlet named several prominent companies, including:

  • NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation)
  • CCL (Central Coalfields Limited)
  • L&T (Larsen & Toubro)

TSPC clearly aimed the warning at outsourced mining operators, cautioning them not to run operations without first engaging with the group.

🩺 Injured Driver Stable

Gautam Dubey, the injured driver, sustained minor injuries to his neck and remains in stable condition.

🛡️ Police Response & Security Measures

Vicky Thakur, in-charge of Pagar Outpost under Keredari Police Station, confirmed the attack and said:

“We’ve registered a formal complaint. Patrolling has been increased around all major mining sites.”

Security has been tightened in the region, and a search operation is underway to apprehend the assailants.

🧠 Maoist Ideology Resurfaces

The pamphlet invoked Marxist ideology, criticizing the role of police as being in favor of corporations. It warned that further “criminal action” would be taken if companies bypassed TSPC’s conditions.

TSPC is a splinter group of the former Maoist Communist Centre (MCC), which merged with the People’s War Group in 2004 to form the Communist Party of India (Maoist).
