In Etawah city’s Friends Colony area, a laborer working under intense heat died on Friday afternoon. The worker was engaged in plastering work when he suddenly fainted and collapsed. Seeing foam coming from his mouth, fellow laborers immediately rushed him to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Locals believe the extreme heat caused his death.
The incident occurred when the laborer, working alongside a mason on a construction site, resumed work after lunch. Around 3 PM, he suddenly felt dizzy and fell. According to coworkers, the scorching heat and strong sunstroke led to his sudden health deterioration.
Rishu Yadav, son of Manoj Kumar, who took the laborer to the hospital, said that his father is a constable in the RPF stationed in Kanpur and is currently building a house in Friends Colony. On Friday morning, a laborer named Tinku came with the mason for plastering work. According to fellow masons and workers, he was a resident of Babarpur (Auraiya).
Upon receiving news of the incident, the hospital administration informed the local police. The body has been sent to the mortuary for post-mortem. The deceased’s identity has not been fully confirmed yet, so authorities have not been able to contact his family.
Police officials said efforts are ongoing to identify the laborer, and further action will be taken based on the post-mortem report. Meanwhile, this incident has created fear among other laborers working at the construction site. The tragedy raises serious concerns over the safety of workers laboring under extreme heat in open environments.
