✈️ Indian Public Outrage Grows as Azerbaijan and Turkey Condemn Anti-Terror Operation in PoK
In the aftermath of Operation Sindoor, where Indian armed forces successfully struck nine terror infrastructure targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), a wave of public anger has erupted across India against Azerbaijan and Turkey—both of which issued statements in support of Pakistan.
🔥 Diplomatic Fallout After Precision Strikes
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan condemned the Indian military action and expressed solidarity with Pakistan. Their statement read:
“We condemn military attacks against the Islamic Republic of Pakistan that killed and injured several civilians. Being in solidarity with the people of Pakistan, we express condolences to the families of the innocent victims and wish a speedy recovery to those who were injured.”
Similarly, Turkey echoed support for Islamabad, raising concerns about the escalation of tension between the two nuclear-powered neighbors.
📢 Indian Netizens Lead Call for Boycott
The response from Indian citizens was swift and intense. Many took to social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter), calling for a complete travel and economic boycott of Azerbaijan and Turkey. These nations, especially Baku (Azerbaijan), have become increasingly popular destinations for Indian tourists in recent years.
“No more Baku visits please. In 2024, Azerbaijan witnessed a significant surge in Indian tourists… Show them the power of Indian tourists now!” said X user Alok Jain.
“Azerbaijan (BAKU) and Turkey should now see India’s power. We should ban these locations from our holidays,” wrote another user, Anant Ladha.
Some users even encouraged fellow citizens to explore rival destinations like Armenia and Greece instead.
🏡 Private Sector Joins In
In a significant move, Goa Villas, a luxury villa aggregator, announced it would no longer accommodate Turkish nationals.
“Due to Turkey’s non-cooperative stance in the current global scenario involving India and Pakistan, we’ve decided not to offer any accommodation services to Turkish citizens in Goa. We stand firmly with our nation,” read their post on X.
🚀 About Operation Sindoor
Launched early Wednesday morning, Operation Sindoor targeted terror bases in Bahawalpur (Jaish-e-Mohammad stronghold) and Muridke (Lashkar-e-Taiba’s base). The strikes were India’s response to the Pahalgam massacre, where 26 civilians lost their lives in a brutal terrorist attack two weeks ago.
The Indian government has not officially responded to the statements from Turkey and Azerbaijan, but diplomatic tensions appear to be rising.
