During surprise inspections at three different locations \u2014 <strong>Prabhu Ka Adda<\/strong>, <strong>Indira Nagar<\/strong>, and <strong>Ramnagar<\/strong> \u2014 the team uncovered a total theft of <strong>35 kilowatts of electricity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The operation was led by Sub-Divisional Officer (Third) <strong>Gagan Agnihotri<\/strong> and Vigilance In-Charge <strong>Zulfikar Ali<\/strong>. <strong>The authorities caught 17 individuals red-handed stealing electricity during the raid and filed legal action under the Electricity Theft Act.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Names of Accused<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Those charged with electricity theft include: <strong>Uma Devi, Ratna Shri, Sangrila, Balveer, Ramchandra, Meera Devi, Rajeev, Tejpal Singh, Ganga Devi, Moharshree, Rahul, Anuj Kumar, Shubham Kumar, Rajaram, Shiv Bahadur, Madhu Shukla, and Seema Devi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team also included Junior Engineer <strong>Shashiv Gaur<\/strong>, Vigilance Junior Engineer <strong>Ajay Srivastava<\/strong>, Sub-Inspector <strong>Jitendra Singh<\/strong>, Head Constable <strong>Om Pratap Singh<\/strong>, <strong>Awadhesh Singh<\/strong>, and other departmental staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Power Theft Behind Sudden Overload<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Executive Engineer (First Division) <strong>Hanuman Prasad Mishra<\/strong> stated that the drive was initiated following frequent complaints of <strong>sudden overload on transformers at night and power cuts faced by genuine consumers<\/strong>. He confirmed that electricity theft was the major reason behind the sudden rise in load during nighttime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Anti-Theft Drive to Continue<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>He further added that <strong>the department will continue its strict monitoring and checking drives<\/strong> day and night to ensure <strong>uninterrupted and smooth power supply to law-abiding consumers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The operation has caused a stir in the area, and a wave of panic has spread among those engaged in illegal power usage.
