The accused, identified as <strong>Sakshi Gupta<\/strong>, allegedly defrauded 41 customers over the span of two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to police officials, between 2022 and 2023, Sakshi withdrew funds from <strong>110 accounts<\/strong> and rerouted the money into newly created accounts. She then allegedly used these funds to invest in the stock market. An elderly woman reportedly lost over \u20b93 crore after someone transferred the amount from her account without her knowledge.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Modus Operandi: Secret Accounts and Fixed Deposit Closures<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Investigations reveal that when customers approached Sakshi to open accounts, she would <strong>secretly open a second account<\/strong> in their name and direct their funds into it. She also allegedly <strong>prematurely closed fixed deposits of 30 customers<\/strong>, diverting \u20b91.34 crore in the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To cover her tracks, Sakshi <strong>changed the registered mobile numbers<\/strong> linked to these accounts so that customers would not receive transaction alerts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Discovery and Arrest<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The fraud came to light after multiple customer complaints prompted <strong>Bank Manager Tarun Dadhich<\/strong> to carry out an internal investigation. On <strong>February 18, 2025<\/strong>, he filed a police complaint. Sakshi was later <strong>arrested in Rawatbhata<\/strong>, her hometown, though she had been living in Kota with her husband.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Udyog Nagar Police Station SHO Jitendra Singh<\/strong> stated, \u201cShe even invested lakhs of rupees from her own family in the stock market but suffered heavy losses.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>ICICI Bank Responds<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>ICICI Bank issued a statement saying:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe FIR was filed immediately upon discovering the fraudulent activity. The employee was suspended, and we have a <strong>zero-tolerance policy<\/strong> toward fraud.
