Senior Advocate Seeks Passport Return<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Senior advocate Abhinav Chandrachud, representing Allahbadia, informed a bench of Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh that his client had already joined the investigation and filed the required undertaking. Chandrachud further requested a modification of the court’s condition that required Allahbadia to deposit his passport, arguing that it negatively impacted his livelihood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Supreme Court\u2019s Stand on the Matter<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The bench, however, noted that allowing Allahbadia to travel abroad could affect the ongoing investigation. The Supreme Court agreed to review Allahbadia\u2019s request for passport release after this period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Resumption of “The Ranveer Show”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On March 3, the Supreme Court granted permission for Allahbadia to resume his podcast, \u201cThe Ranveer Show,\u201d on the condition that it maintains morality and decency, making it suitable for viewers of all age groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Legal Battle Over Controversial Comments The Supreme Court had earlier granted him interim protection from arrest on February 18 while criticizing his comments as \u201cvulgar\u201d and stating that he possessed a \u201cdirty mind\u201d that brought shame to society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Other Comedians Named in the Case<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Besides Allahbadia and Samay Raina, several other comedians, including Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija, have also been named in the case in Assam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
