Saudi Arabia Partners with Nvidia to Boost AI Ambitions Amid Trump’s Gulf Visit

World News

New AI and cloud computing initiatives unveiled as part of Saudi Arabia’s vision to diversify its economy beyond oil.

Saudi Arabia has announced a series of new partnerships with US-based tech giant Nvidia, signaling a major step forward in the kingdom’s efforts to become a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital infrastructure. The announcement coincided with former US President Donald Trump’s ongoing Gulf tour, which has focused on strengthening economic ties and securing business deals.

In a joint statement released on Tuesday, Nvidia and Saudi officials detailed plans that include the construction of AI factories, the expansion of cloud computing infrastructure, and comprehensive training programs for developers and engineers across the country. “Although the parties did not disclose specific financial figures, they marked the collaboration as a significant milestone in Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy.”

“This partnership marks a significant step toward positioning the Kingdom as a leader among data- and AI-driven economies,” said Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Alghamdi, President of the Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA).

As part of this broader initiative, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Monday also launched a new national AI company named Humain, which will focus on the development and governance of artificial intelligence technologies within the kingdom.

The developments come at a time when Saudi Arabia is accelerating its efforts to diversify its oil-dependent economy and invest in futuristic sectors such as AI, renewable energy, and biotech. With foreign tech companies like Nvidia now onboard, the kingdom appears determined to establish itself as the Middle East’s AI powerhouse.

The announcement was made during Trump’s economic diplomacy visit to the Gulf, which has so far focused more on technology and business alliances rather than military or political issues. The former president has voiced support for initiatives that increase economic cooperation between US firms and Gulf nations.

With projects like Neom city and now advanced AI partnerships taking shape, Saudi Arabia is signaling to the world that it wants to be more than just an oil-rich nation—it wants to be a global tech hub.
