đź”´ BCCI Releases Revised IPL Schedule Following Ceasefire Agreement Between India and Pakistan

The BCCI will restart the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on May 17, after temporarily suspending it due to the recent India-Pakistan conflict.
The announcement came after both nations reached a ceasefire, allowing the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to resume the tournament.

The first match after the restart will feature Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Kolkata Knight Riders at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. A total of 17 remaining league matches will be played across six cities — Bengaluru, Lucknow, Jaipur, Delhi, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad.

The grand finale is scheduled for June 3, with venues for the Playoffs yet to be confirmed.

🗓️ Revised Schedule Highlights

  • Start Date: May 17, 2025
  • End Date (Final): June 3, 2025
  • Total Remaining Matches: 17

The IPL season had come to an abrupt halt when the Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match was stopped after 10.1 overs at Dharamsala due to escalating tensions. The situation led to an emergency evacuation of players, officials, and spectators — some players reportedly left the stadium in their kits and pads due to the urgency.

🇮🇳 BCCI’s Statement on National Priority

BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia emphasized the importance of national interest over sport, stating:

“While cricket remains a national passion, there is nothing greater than the Nation and its sovereignty, integrity, and security of our country. The BCCI remains firmly committed to support all efforts that safeguard India.”

All 32 Indian airports, previously shut due to the conflict—including Chandigarh and Dharamsala—have reopened. The BCCI has instructed all franchises (except PBKS) to report to their venues by Tuesday and coordinate foreign player arrivals in time for the restart.

With the new schedule confirmed and venues set, fans can now look forward to the resumption of IPL action. The tournament’s final leg promises high-stakes matches, renewed rivalries, and a grand finale to close a season that has already witnessed drama both on and off the field.
