Etawah Left Out of Uttar Pradesh Budget 2025: No Funds for Lion Safari or Tourism Development

Etawah, February 20, 2025: The Uttar Pradesh government presented the 2025 state budget on Thursday, but Etawah district failed to receive any special allocations. Key tourism attractions such as the Lion Safari, Fisher Forest, Bird Sanctuary, and Chambal River were left out of the budget, sparking disappointment among local leaders and business owners.

Despite high expectations from the budget, the trading community in Etawah was let down, as their demands for industrial development and tax relief were ignored. Business leaders had hoped for government incentives to boost trade, but no such provisions were made.

Political Reactions & Concerns

Samajwadi Party’s state secretary, Gopal Yadav, criticized the budget, stating, “Funds were crucial for the development of the Lion Safari Park, and yet, no allocation has been made. The government has also neglected tourism potential along the Chambal River and Fisher Forest.”

With no major financial support for Etawah’s tourism and economic sectors, local stakeholders fear slowed growth and missed opportunities for the district.
