Etawah: In a major crackdown, the Kotwali police in Etawah have busted an illegal gambling operation running inside an abandoned bakery. Acting on a tip-off, the police raided the premises and arrested 15 gamblers, recovering items worth lakhs of rupees.
The operation took place during a routine vehicle-checking drive conducted by the Kotwali police in coordination with the Special Operations Group (SOG) and Surveillance Team at Shastri Square. During the drive, the police received intelligence about an illegal gambling den operating in an abandoned bakery owned by Mahendra Rajput, located in Vinayak Nagar, Rani Bagh, behind the German Mill.
Upon receiving the information, the police swiftly raided the location and caught the gamblers red-handed. The authorities have seized significant amounts of cash and other valuable materials used in gambling. Further legal action is being taken against the arrested individuals.
This successful raid highlights the Etawah police’s commitment to curbing illegal activities and maintaining law and order in the region.
