Etawah Today: Winter Vacation Extended in Etawah Schools Amid Severe Cold Wave.

Education

Etawah, Uttar Pradesh – The District Magistrate of Etawah has extended the winter vacation for all schools in the district due to the ongoing cold wave and adverse weather conditions. A formal order issued by the Basic Education Officer confirmed the decision, citing concerns for the health and safety of students.

The extended vacation applies to students of Classes 1 to 8 in all council schools, non-governmental institutions, government-aided schools, and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV). Additionally, all recognized schools affiliated with the CBSE and ICSE boards in the district will also remain closed for these classes.

Weather Conditions Prompt Action

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Etawah is expected to experience minimum temperatures around 7°C until January 18. The region is likely to face dense fog and severe cold wave conditions, with the added impact of snowfall in the nearby hilly areas contributing to the chilling temperatures in the plains.

The District Magistrate’s decision to extend the vacation underscores the need to protect young children from the harsh weather, which could adversely affect their health.

Impact on Daily Life

The extreme cold has already disrupted normal routines across the district, with many struggling to cope with the biting chill. School authorities and parents have welcomed the move, acknowledging the challenges posed by the ongoing cold wave.

Advisory for Parents

Parents and guardians are advised to stay updated with any further announcements from the district administration or education department regarding school schedules. Meanwhile, students are encouraged to stay indoors and take precautions to stay warm.

This measure comes as a relief for children and their families, as Etawah and other regions in Uttar Pradesh continue to battle the impacts of the winter chill.
